I understand the value of the lock in a workplace, but not at home. A little clunky and unattractive. 2) The key lock on the access door is a bit over kill for a home office. A variable speed or controllable fan would be a big improvement. OWC products are excellent.I would recommend this item to a friend! This review is from OWC ThunderBay 4 mini Four-Bay External Drive Enclosure with Dual Thunderbolt 3 Ports.Rating: 3/5 Good, but could be better. Overall I am very pleased with the ThunderBay 4 mini. I would happily pay a little higher price for these features. It would be a really nice improvement if this LED would turn off when the system is shut down or when no drives are mounted. There is no power switch on the unit. Or possible a higher quality fan would be quieter. And with only three SSDs installed at the moment, it seems it would be better if the fan only came on when needed instead of a steady speed all the time (when running, the fan does shut off when sleeping). It would be nice if it was a bit more less noticeable. I do not really need a locking enclosure, so I found this operation a bit clunky. As it is now, the door comes completely off with the key lock holding the door onto the enclosure. If you are going to hot swap drives often, it would be nicer to have a better access door.
